People often are unsure what to do with old books and dvds – no one likes to throw those items away but also don’t want to keep them (or can’t). The library will accept donations of books and dvds. They will either end up in the collection, in our Outreach program, or in our semi-annual booksale.
We love to get donations of paperbacks, hardbacks, and dvds, but not old magazines, encyclopedia sets, VHS tapes, and your son’s college textbooks. Also, please check the condition of your donations before bringing them to us. If they have been stored in your basement or garage, mold, mildew and insects can be a problem. Sometimes the recycling bin or trash can is the best option in the long run.
Feel free to call the library at 740 286-4111 if you have questions about donating items to us.
